Following on from April's theme of Intuition, May's theme of Independence also comes from the palm reading that I had in Jaipur earlier this year. The palm reader told me that I'm very independent which will do me well with both my business and personal life, so it felt fitting to focus on independence and what it means for the month of May. Let's see...
As a twin, I think my parents were concerned about us being called "the girls" or "the twins" and people not seeing us as individuals so independence was instilled in us at an early age. Sara (my twin sister) and I are very different but both independent but in different ways. Sara is more of an independent thinker and is very black and white in her thoughts and mindset. Where I am someone that thinks way too much and likes to sound out ideas and thoughts with lots of people. I see this as grey and probably not that independent! However, I'm someone that is traditionally terrible at asking for help and have the constant thought process of "it's easier for me to do it so I'll know it will get done." Too independent!
All the travelling I have been doing with Kat&Bee comes from an independent streak. A desire to be free and explore and to meet lots of people and see interesting places as well as grow both personally and professionally.
I remember watching a documentary several years ago which talked about "Make or Break May". It said that for a lot of wildlife May was the sliding doors month. This is due to a transition in seasons and some wildlife not surviving the climate change or shift in seasons as they don't quite have the confidence or independence to break away and fend for themselves. Those that know me well would have heard this phrase numerous times (lolz!) as I often refer to it and absolutely love it! It's also one of the first things that came to mind when I started to think about about independence and May.
Here are some words to get you thinking about independence...
Throughout this month, I will be focusing on semi-precious stones that when worn give you the courage to be independent, words that give you the strength to be independent as well as a mindset to get you thinking about your different traits of independence.
Wishing you a wonderful May full of fun, happiness and, most of all, independence.
All my love
